As such, the turmeric sometimes referred to as Curcuma longa is quite a common kitchen additive. It is one of those herbs that is loaded with a lot of health benefits and should be taken every day. Using this herb helps you get proteins, fiber, Vitamins C, E, K, and Minerals like calcium, potassium, zinc, calcium, iron, and magnesium. These nutrients give a great health value to the turmeric.

The spice lowers cholesterol when it is high hence bringing the desired balance. Additionally, turmeric is the spice of choice when one wants to maintain the appropriate weight. Fats and carbohydrates are the major contributors to weight problems. Turmeric improves the breakdown of fats by increasing bile flow in the gut. The bile and salts found in the digestive juices help in ensuring that fat is well metabolized.

Cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s disease cause significant mortality and morbidity yet they are difficult to treat. Turmeric is good for the brain health because it removes plaque deposits which cause problems and enhances the cerebral blood flow. Doing this is essentially slowing down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The other vital organ that directly benefits from the turmeric is the liver. This herb is known to be a natural detoxifier of the liver. This reduces the burden on the liver and thus it functions better.
